Program Overview
We deliver our dietitian-led, 8-week food literacy and food skills curriculum through hands-on and virtual learning experiences. The program is supplemented, when needed, with free, nutritious meal kits with all the ingredients to participate or grocery gift cards ensuring equitable access for all learners.
How to register
Our program includes:
A grocery gift card or weekly bag
of ingredients needed for each week
Where kids can come together and learn with a summerlunch+ leader
Live virtual cooking classes
Weekly games and activities
to help kids learn more about the weekly theme
of kids cooking and learning together and ongoing support from the summerlunch+ team
A community
25 vegetarian and halal recipes
to prepare 3 meals or snacks each week
Cooking videos
to help kids prepare meals on their own time

SickKids x summerlunch+ at home 2022 and 2024
We partnered with the SickKids Hospital Diabetes Clinic to bring the summerlunch+ at Home program customized for children with Type 1 Diabetes.

The 2023 summer program was run in Thorncliffe Park and Alexandra Park. We also partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters Halton.

After launching our summerlunch+ at Home program in 2020, families loved the redesign so much that we decided to implement it again in the fall with Regent Park and Thorncliffe Park.
